“Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.”
We hope that the information on our website will be useful to all members of our school community and those considering joining our international community of learners.
Since 2008, when our school was founded as LISA-JUNIOR International School, it has earned its outstanding reputation through the engagement and successes of its students, its rich and rigorous educational programme, its dedicated staff, its stimulating learning environment, and its international and multi-cultural perspective.
Since May 2014 Anton Bruckner International School is an authorized IB-World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students.
In September 2015 we will start our latest project: we will open a PYP 5 class and since then expanded our school for another class, up to grade 10. In school year 2017/18 we will start with the MYP classes. Our first MYP graduates will change to the Diploma Programme school in 2020/21. This project is definetely a milestone for a continuous international education in Linz.
From September 2017 on, our school name will change. We are now Anton Bruckner International School of the school associaton of the Kreuzschwestern. Our school is now named after Anton Bruckner, who was an Austrian composer best known for his symphonies, masses, and motets.
A good school is not about the facilities and the resources only, but about the people and its core beliefs. Our core beliefs are represented well in our School Ethos and Values.
We have more than 50 nationalities within our student body. Understanding, acceptance and friendship are a way of life in this marvellously rich multi-cultural environment.
In addition to academics, Anton Bruckner International School offers a wide extra-curricular programme, which provides further opportunities for students to reach the very highest levels of achievement and performance. For example, students have various opportunities to learn different languages, through playful experience with the new language.
We are strongly supported by a dynamic Parent Teacher Organisation. Parents are also involved in assisting with class trips and activities, and our Learning Assistance Programme relies heavily upon the skills and good will of our parent community.
For new students and parents transferring to Anton Bruckner International School from public schools one can expect a life-changing educational experience, a growing pool of friends from around the world, and a feeling of empathy with life-long learners throughout the globe.
What better way to prepare for higher education and future careers in an increasingly interconnected world than to attend a truly “international” school – a school that sets individual goals for each and every student, and to feel at home.
Children Learn What They Live
If a child lives with encouragement he learns to be confident
If a child lives with tolerance he learns to be patient
If a child lives with praise he learns to appreciate
If a child lives with fairness he learns justice
If a child lives with security he learns to have faith
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship he learns
to find love in the world.
